Southland is a fishing heaven. Every year the region attracts anglers

from across the globe to its clear running, trout-laden rivers. Under big

and catch rate of any river in New Zealand.

• Riverton, The Catlins and Stewart Island offer epic coastlines perfect

for sea fishing adventures. The fish are so prolific you’ll need the

biggest chilly bin you can find to store your haul.
